Antelope Union High School Graduation Requirements, Diploma Levels, and Awards

Antelope Union High School (AUHS) Graduation Requirements

The Arizona State Board of Education (AZSBE) establishes the requirements for graduation from high school. The minimum course of study and competency requirements are outlined in Title 7, Chapter 2 of the Arizona Administrative Code. The minimum course of study State Board Rule, is R7-2-302.

The table below summarizes the minimum credit requirements for each of the three board-approved diploma tracks offered at AUHS for graduation. The General Diploma aligns with the minimum number of credits required by the AZSBE, along with required locally-prescribed courses for graduation for all AUHS students. The requirements of the General Diploma will not provide students with the rigor, classes, or curriculum necessary to be admitted to or receive scholarships from most four-year colleges and universities, including Arizona's four universities. Please note that school districts and charter schools may, at their discretion, establish additional graduation credit requirements for their students. At AUHS, all students are required to complete two years of computers and a year of ACT prep in addition to the minimum AZSBE requirements, beginning with the Class of 2029.

In addition to the minimum number of credits required for graduation, are required to complete their ECAP (http://www.azed.gov/ecap/) and, beginning with the graduating class of 2026, all Arizona high school graduates are required to pass (70/100) a civics test identical to the civics portion of the naturalization test used by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Special education students with an Individualized Education Plan are only required to pass the civics test if it is mentioned in the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).
