Dear Antelope Families,
As we approach our upcoming state testing window, we want to take a moment to emphasize how important these assessments are for our students and our school community. The testing schedule is as follows:
Junior Science Testing: March 17โ19
Junior State Testing (ACT): March 24โ26
Freshman State Testing: April 15โ16
These assessments play an important role in measuring student learning and growth, and they help demonstrate the progress our students and staff are making together. The results also contribute to our schoolโs Arizona Department of Education letter grade, which is an important indicator of our schoolโs success and improvement. Strong performance on these assessments helps show the positive direction Antelope is moving in, even as we continue working through the districtโs current receivership.
Most importantly, these tests are an opportunity for our students to showcase their hard work and knowledge. High scores can open doors to scholarships, college opportunities, military advancement opportunities, and placement advantages in trade and technical programs. Even for students who do not plan to attend a traditional four-year college, strong test performance can provide valuable options and recognition of their abilities.
To help our students perform at their best, we ask for your support in encouraging a few key habits during testing days:
Prioritize attendance. Our goal is 100% attendance during testing, so every student has the opportunity to demonstrate what they know.
Ensure students get a good nightโs sleep the night before testing.
Encourage students to eat a healthy breakfast so they have the energy and focus they need.
Help reduce stress by reminding students to stay calm, take their time, and simply do their best.
Offer positive encouragement. A few supportive words from home can make a big difference in helping students feel confident and prepared.
Our teachers and staff have been working hard to prepare students, and we are excited for them to show what they can do. With strong attendance, healthy routines, and encouragement from home, our students will be well-positioned to succeed.
Thank you for your continued support of Antelope and for partnering with us to help our students achieve their very best.
